Today we’d like to introduce you to Kayla Sutterer
Kayla, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Growing up I always loved hair and all things in the beauty industry. It was my dream to become a hairstylist. After high school I went to community college and decided that it wasn’t for me. I shortly after started cosmetology school where I saw my dreams come true. Once I graduated from school I took my first salon offer. I soon realized that there’s lots of salons and you really have to find what works best for you. I knew that my education and the product that were used on my clients was the most important to me. I then got introduced to Salon Elite where I can truly say can career took off. I fell in love with the fact that our color comes from the state of the art LG color master machine that’s ammonia free. And the education program is unmatched!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Yes there definitely has been struggles through the journey. The beauty industry is definitely a very competitive field to be in. Every corner has a hair salon, but finding which salon works for you and your clientele is what’s important. A very important thing when building your business is making sure that you surround yourself with people who are willing to lift and motivate you to be the best.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a hair stylist at Salon Elite. Their I specialize in balayage, lived in looks, hair thinning and hair loss. I love to help people fall in love with their look again and help them gain confidence back. Hair thinning and hair loss is a huge topic that most women hate having, but I thrive to have my chair be a safe place where we can talk about next steps (whether that be utilizing our head spa treatments or getting fitted for a hair topper) or what we need to change in your home routine.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
My family definitely deserves credit for being so supportive of my career. From supporting me in school by coming in and letting me do whatever I wanted or by sharing my current work on social media and helping me network. I couldn’t do it without them. But also Tasha and Carlie deserve so much credit. For the past two years working under them has been amazing. They have gone above and beyond to help me with education classes and hands on training. They have created an amazing work environment where my clients and I have the best time. I truly don’t know where I would be in the field without two great mentors like them.
