Today we’d like to introduce you to Sadie Turner
Hi Sadie, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I always knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur since a kid, when people or my teachers would ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up I would always say an entrepreneur. I started doing my own hair in 9th grade at the age of 14. And slowly but surely started to do other people’s hair … my mom, my close friends, and cousins. I just started doing lash clusters last year around September and I started my business/ business page in December and it all went up from there. I’m glad God gave me the opportunity to show and share my talents with my community. If it wasn’t for him none of this would be possible. I wouldn’t be in the place I am today & I wouldn’t have been able to thrive as much as I am now.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been a smooth road.. In the beginning I didn’t have as much support from my friends and my family as I thought I would have, and that kind of discouraged me. I had my days where I thought it wasn’t going to work , and my business wasn’t going to thrive but I put my faith in God and trusted his plan.. I still face challenges to this day but I believe in the end all of my hard work and dedication will eventually pay off.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I do hair, lashes, and YouTube. I am really known for my lash clusters as of now, but I’m trying to venture off and show people that I am more than just a lash tech. I’m most proud of my hard work, dedication, and determination. No matter what difficulties are thrown my way I still make sure my clients leave out as happy as can be. I’m different from other stylist because I feel like I have a true passion for what I do and my personality is so unique. All my clients leave with a smile and a good experience. I’m very relatable and non-judgmental, so all my clients and friends feel like they can tell and say anything to me because I am just so down to earth and fun to be around.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I love taking risk. I feel like you never know until you try. I took a major risk with YouTube and my business. I didn’t know if I would get supports, and I didn’t know if people were actually going to enjoy my videos/ their hairstyle or lashes. But they always do, my 2nd YouTube video (not to brag) got 400 views in 2 days. People will show me a picture reference of a type of lash or hairstyle that they want me to do that I’ve never done before but they trust and know I can do it. A lot of hairstyles that I’ve done have been first try’s for me. I feel like risk taking is really important being an entrepreneur. You never know until you try. Being creative and passionate about what you do will only help you succeed.
