Hi Timothy, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
Growing up, I came from a long line of entrepreneurs. I previously owned several businesses from window cleaning to home remodeling & repairs. But as a child, one of my dream jobs was to become a videographer. Fast forward to 2015, my wife bought my first digital Canon camera and from that came the birth of Grace Photography STL LLC and my childhood dream of 30 plus years became a reality in 2016. With very little knowledge about photography, I taught myself the works and met some great friends in the photography business along the way.
With the support of my family, friends and community, Grace Photography STL LLC. has become what it is today.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road. While learning the business I discovered the cost of equipment was not cheap. I ended up taking a few extra jobs to support my business and family. I also discovered that this is not a one-man job. Thankfully, my family is always there to lend a hand when I need it. From doing transactions to printing out the pictures to keep the line moving steadily at events. The pandemic had me still for a while with no income coming in from the business but I didn’t give up. My perseverance and support coming from my family and friends in the photography business kept me going through these struggles times.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a photographer. I specialize in events, weddings, portraits & sports photography. I’m known for telling a story through my work, with each photo album taking you through the highlights and fun times of each session. I’m most proud of seeing customers returning and recommending me to their family and friends so their stories can be told through photography as well. I feel that what makes me different from other photographers, I focus on telling their stories and visions so that they can look back at the photos with warm memories and smiles on their faces.
What does success mean to you?
I define success by God’s grace that He provides me with every photo session allowing me to improve my skills with each photoshoot or event. With faith and hard work seeing Grace Photographer STL LLC in business for 5 years now with great clients.
