Hi Angeles, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I own and operate the Snap’ n’ Smile Photo Booth. I’m a wife and mother of two beautiful boys. “Venimos a este pais para salir adelante,” means, “We came to this country to get ahead.” It all began when my parents immigrated to the United States. I was only three years old and heading toward a new world. A land of opportunity, I have tried many things like nail technician and Party Rentals. One day, I even decided to go to school to become a certified dental assistant. I loved the idea of the dental world because I could see patients’ happy faces when they felt or saw a change in their smile. I’ve always had an ambition: to be an entrepreneur. I also felt a strong desire to document my life. Being one of five siblings, I was the photographer during events. I coordinated picture days for my family. I love photo albums. I truly dedicated myself to capturing the moment and emotion. This is the creation of a supportive husband and two hardworking parents. I’m trying to inspire my children and the rest of the world that everything starts with an idea, and just because one doesn’t work doesn’t mean the next won’t. Try different things in life with determination; anything is possible.
You wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Building something from the ground up is never easy, and it has been interesting learning how to push through challenges and obstacles. I’ve had some seriously long nights and endless hours of creative design and brainstorming; starting this business definitely showed me that I have some weaknesses. I remember the first day all the equipment arrived. I set everything up, and I was sitting in my living room with instruction manuals and a lot of confusion. The photo booths required me to learn unfamiliar software. I have learned so much about my booths and myself that success is already available. We have to get it. Now, I truly enjoy the entire process, from set-up to breakdown. My main goal is always to provide a flawless experience.
