Community Highlights: Meet Beth Ducker of All In Good Taste STL

Today we’d like to introduce you to Beth Ducker

Hi Beth, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I opened my catering business at the tender age of 22 years old in my mothers’ dream kitchen. As you can imagine that did not last long as it was her brand new kitchen and anybody who caters knows the same mess it takes to cook for 10 as it does 100. In 1993, I opened a small cafe in Eureka, MO called Cuisine d’ Art Cafe & Catering that allowed my business to grow and be able to connect with my customers. As the business grew I felt we needed a bigger space to be able to accommodate larger events. I then opened my second location 2001 in Creve Coeur with a larger kitchen and cafe setting and was able to handle events up to 1000. At this location I was able to reach a larger audience and opened a small boutique with homewares and gifts. As the business grew, the entrepreneurial spirit in me decided to open a full scale 200 seat restaurant in Wildwood, MO in 2009. Call me crazy, yes. The restaurant was opened for 10 years and truly rounded out my aspirations of success. Prior to the pandemic, I decided to close Table Three Restaurant and dodged a real bullet there. I started consulting and then led me to what is now a culmination of all my thirty year experience, All In Good Taste. With over 30 years in the event, interior design, catering, and restaurant industry, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for great food, effortless entertaining, curated personal style, and beautifully crafted holiday looks. My experience as a business owner and planner has allowed me to be client-focused to ensure successful entertaining and styling. My goal now and always is to provide my clients with a personalized, engaging, and enjoyable experience.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As any business owner knows, your friend group consists of Peter, Paul, Murphy’s Law and the B#!@% Seasonality. That said, when you are younger you go up to the cliff and jump without any concern but perseverance and determination, Along the way you figure it out as best you can with no handbook, you basically sink or swim. What you learn along the way is what you are made of and how you are when the rubber meets the road. As the years go you unfortunately, miss life’s moments and loose brain cells you cannot get back. That said, through all the twists and turns, I would not have traded a moment as it has shaped me into the person I am today. A serial entrepreneur. With my approach to business ownership now, I jump off the cliff in full repelling gear and floaties on my arms.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

Create an SOI-sphere of influence. People you can tryst to bounce ideas off of, go to for advice or inspiration. Travel as much as you are able to see what else is out there and get ideas. #1 get a good accountant and bookkeeper, do not try and do this yourself. Copious amounts of time will be wasted when you should concentrate on what you do well.
