Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Nordman.
Hi Ashley, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for sharing your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
I owned 4 businesses before hitting 30, so it is fair to say that I am a natural-born entrepreneur. I own and operate AN Skin & Beauty, which is my true passion. We are a medical-grade skincare and beauty line designed around creating results, science-based skincare, and helping build confidence. I fell into this industry after being in the fitness industry for years and getting into a space of burnout. I was mentally burned out but also physically, and my body needed a break. As I started to focus on finding balance after years of extremes in the fitness and bodybuilding industry, I developed major skin concerns as I worked to balance my hormones. My entire face was covered in acne. As someone who loves to solve problems, I decided that it was time to switch gears and go back to school. I got licensed in Esthetics and worked at a plastic surgery center right out of school. But when Covid happened, I lost my job and, again, found myself wanting to solve a problem: how can I help people have great skin without working on them in practice? So, I created my skincare line, and the rest is history!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been a challenging road. We’ve had issues with our inventory going out of stock for long periods, not enough support from my team, and even issues with manufacturing due to the state of the world. But we have always seen setbacks and struggles as opportunities to learn so that we do it better and better as we carry on! My business has grown extremely fast, which is a blessing, but with that comes making fast decisions, risky calls, and of course, the struggle of growing pains.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a Licensed Medical Aesthetician and a female business owner, wife, and mom. I specialize in skin health and aesthetics, so I look at the skin from a holistic point of view, helping my customers with tailored skincare regimens and lifestyle changes, and instilling healthy habits. I am also an expert at facials, skin treatments, and post-procedure care. I am known for being an open book, outgoing and friendly, and for sharing my education and knowledge with the world. I am also a huge giver – I love giving my time, energy, and gifts (it is my love language!). I will give you all the tools to thrive, as I see your potential and want you to be as successful as possible! I am most proud of my desire never to give up. My journey has been anything but easy, and it can be a lonely road, but I know in my heart that I can keep growing and helping more people, and that is what motivates me daily. My empathy and understanding can be a weakness and a strength, as I deeply feel and care for those around me.
