Today we’d like to introduce you to Crash Planet
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
We came together through mutual friendships and formed the band in a garage in Auburn IL where we began writing and playing our demo at garage parties. After a couple of lineup changes, we started playing live at venues around Springfield and wrote our EP False Summit. After False Summit’s release, we immediately began writing what is going to be our first full-length album and are currently looking at setting up our first tour.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road. In total, we have had around nine different lineups since Crash Planet’s beginning. There was a learning curve in being creative with other people and not necessarily always getting what you want and the time commitment that is involved with writing and recording original music.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We all have day jobs that span from landscape work, delivery driving, plumbing, mechanic work, and even being full-time in school. I’d say we are most proud that the music gear and following we have, has come from our hard work, playing live, and making connections with other people. I think what sets us apart from others is that we have built our band from zero. When we started we didn’t have friends in the right places, we all grew up in small towns where live music is not common. The following we have has been built strictly by the music we make and play live.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I see our industry shifting towards Alternative, Rock, and Country. Even today it seems like a lot of the Hip-hop, Trap, and Rap genres are starting to lose the traction they had where bands like Blink 182, Metallica, and Creed are coming back to the forefront of the music industry.
