Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristen Meyer
Hi Kristen, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
For the past several years I have worked as a bedside nurse in a Pediatric ICU and teach hot yoga on my days off. I met the owner of GLO (the company for whom I now conduct my business under) through my hot yoga studio where I worked with her daughter. I love her and her daughter so much and I started to shadow her to learn more about cosmetic injectables. I saw how fun this side of nursing can be and how much joy and happiness she brought to her customers; I quickly knew it was something I wanted to pursue as well. I trained under her for some time and took the leap to take GLO’s formal training. I knew it was going to be challenging to learn how to run a business while working 2 other jobs but it has been incredibly rewarding.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has been anything from smooth-but only continues to get better with time! I had to dive headfirst into the business world with zero background in business. It has been challenging teaching myself how to market, open an LLC, enroll in medical liability insurance and so forth. Now that those learning curves are out of the way, I’m always trying to find new ways to market my business and stay up to date on latest research in the injectable industry.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in Neuromodulators such a as Botox, Dysport and Xeomin to name a few. I also do filler, microneedling and biostimulators among other services! There are tons of injectables out on the market but my favorite services to offer are Dysport to soften wrinkles in the forehead, and a filler product called Restylane Kysse to add subtle volume and fill the lips. I take pride in being able to offer these services at an affordable cost to other nurses, friends, young moms, etc. It fills my cup to help others feel more confident in their skin and to grow relationships with my clients. It’s important to me that my clients can reach out to me with questions and follow up at any point about the services they receive.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
I feel as long as I’m passionate about providing my services and that I can make the client in my seat feel as comfortable as possible that success comes in time. Making sure to set proper expectations to my clients and educate them on the products they are receiving is huge to me. If I lay all the details out on the table before a treatment and clients know they can come to me with questions, it helps build trust and relationships with them.
