Conversations with Patrice Johnson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Patrice Johnson.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?

Patrice J. Bridal officially opened January 2020 in a 2 bedroom home I used as my studio space. My goal was to provide all brides to be with an intimate and non-intimidating dress shopping experience. Covid 19 almost immediately caused a pause in business operations, the pause allowed me to pivot and establish processes and procedures and I am pleased to share that we are growing. Patrice J. Bridal studio will be relocating to Bridgeton, Missouri December 1, 2021!

The new location will allow me to provide my brides and their tribes with a 5 star shopping experience that will include more dresses to choose from, additional sample sizes, private viewings and bridal shower opportunities.

Save the date January 15-17, 2022 for grand opening activities. Follow us on social media @patricejbridal and on the web at www.patricejbridal.com.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The pandemic definitely put a strain on business, but I used the time to establish processes and procedures that will help sustain future growth!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a self-taught seamstress and am able to directly transfer those skills to the bridal industry. I learned to sew as a child. I made my first wedding dresses in 2019 and that’s when I knew bridal was IT FOR ME! In addition to selling bridal gowns, I also offer alteration services to PJB brides as well as brides who have purchased their dresses from other retailers. Additionally, I create formal gowns and ensembles for special occasions other than weddings.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Those who are new to Patrice J Bridal and Patrice J, the person should know that I am not a salesperson. I am a creative at heart and my goal in life is to make my brides and clients feel all the feels while shopping for one of the most important days of their life. I have a big laugh and no one leaves PJB a stranger. Good vibes only at PJB!
