Today we’d like to introduce you to Brooke Taylor.
Hi Brooke, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I became a cosmetic tattoo artist while working in a studio as an office coordinator for a local artist in my hometown, Florida. Where I later decided to pursue a career path in Fine Line tattoos. Working in the industry brought out my passion for creating the best version of every client I work with, from cosmetic tattooing to Fine Line. Along the way, I have had the pleasure of working with, training, and meeting some of the most amazing people I’ve ever met.
You wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been smooth?
My family and I moved to the St. Louis area at the end of 2021, which meant I would be completely starting over and rebuilding my business in a new state where we did not know anyone. The beginning started slow, and I am grateful to my first clients who gave me a chance! Now my clientele is built by word of mouth and social media. However, I am a one women’s show, artist, social media content creator, client services, and tattoo artist. I work to give my clients the best experience possible.
Thanks for sharing that. So, you could tell us a bit more about your work.
I am a licensed and certified Semi Permanent Cosmetic tattoo artist, as well as a licensed and certified Fine Line Tattoo Artist. I specialize in lip blushing, soft powder brows, eyeliner, and fine-line tattoos. Handwriting tattoos that look as if the person wrote directly on the skin. As a conservative cosmetic artist with permanent makeup, I want to enhance your natural beauty without making you feel forced to wear makeup. With fine-line tattoos, I want the option of minimal, feminine, dainty, delicate tattoos.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some changes you expect to see over the next five to ten years?
I look forward to growth, teaching, and expanding in the future. I am currently opening my own space for a studio, and eager to have clients in a warm welcoming atmosphere. I want my clients to know there is an alternative to the traditional stigma often accompanied by ‘tattoo artists’ and ‘tattoo studios.’
