Daily Inspiration: Meet Christiane Danna

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christiane Danna

Hi Christiane, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
After completing a goldsmith apprenticeship in Germany, I moved to the United States in 2002 and began creating jewelry from my home. I started selling to family and friends and have been in business ever since.

Today, I work from a beautiful studio and showroom located at 3202 Morganford Rd in St. Louis, which I share with a fellow jeweler. Here, I personally design and handcraft each piece with a lot of attention to detail, aiming to create jewelry that is both timeless and unique.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Coming from a different country it took a while to figure out my place in the local craft scene and the culture as a general!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I use an ancient Korean technique called Keumboo. It uses heat and pressure to fuse fine silver and 24k gold.
The silver and gold makes for a beautiful contrast!

I’m also known for elegant organic shapes and plant themes.
I would like my jewelry to emit a sense of calm, balanced beauty, something we all need.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
Running through the woods in my native Germany.

Pricing:

  • Simple post earrings in silver or brass start at $50.
  • Keumboo pieces start around $100.
  • With diamonds and High quality gem stones the sky is the limit.,
