Today we’d like to introduce you to Kukata Kali.
Hi Kukata, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My story starts with a natural tendency toward empathy and being an emotional support to others. Even as a child, I was concerned about others. However, I was severely depressed as a teen and suffered from panic/anxiety attacks, chronic stomach issues, headaches, and repetitive thoughts of doom. I was breaking down and acutely self-aware. I told my mother I needed to see someone. And I did. I saw a lot of someone’s physiatrists, doctors, and specialists. No one could help me. So, I started my healing journey alone, knowing it would be up to me. Years later, I’ve healed myself through layers of physical ailments, emotional abuse, and religious trauma, and I’m thriving. I started sharing what I learned about myself and the techniques I used to maintain mental health. I quickly realized how important emotional health is to a thriving human experience. I dove into emotional health, researching books, articles, and lectures concerning emotional health. To my surprise, there wasn’t much on it. That became my focus. So, with my spiritual and esoteric background, I decided to align my practice with esoteric emotional health. I’ve been consulting at Mystic Valley, a metaphysical shop, for almost 4 years. I’ve been reading intuitively and professionally with tarot/oracle for 10 years.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There have been many struggles along the way. I was 23 and a single mother of two already. It’s been a long road to financial stability. It’s been a journey with romantic relationships, abuse, and advocating for my children in the public school system. There were many days when I wished giving up was an option. That’s also the beauty of my journey. Those moments were the motivators and conduits to understanding how to heal.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a healer. Available as an option for Holistic health. I see several people who, like myself, have seen doctors, psychiatrists, and therapists and still don’t feel like their care is working or complete. I use Reiki, various methods of divination, and other spiritual techniques to assist people in healing themselves and maintaining good emotional health. As a Reiki master (teacher), I also teach and attune others to Reiki. I am most proud of my in-person services. I don’t advertise on social media, to focus mainly on the local community. It’s fantastic to see someone light up and remember who they are. That’s my favorite part.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
The fulfillment of an intended goal, big or small, happened! Let’s celebrate that.
