Today we’d like to introduce you to Nick Williamson.
Hi Nick , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve been into music from a very young age. I’ve been a drummer in multiple projects from church, to blues, to rock bands. I did a little music production in high school but stopped to focus on sports and school. I picked it back up a few years ago during the pandemic and have been going strong ever since.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road is never smooth in the music game. It has allot to do with learning/ knowing your sound and staying true to what it is you’re trying to accomplish. I try not to participate in the trends and stay consistent in making music “I LIKE”
A big struggle for me right now is competing in what music is today. Right now we are in a spot where talent is overlooked for popularity. I’d much rather just make music and share to my organic followers but social media and algorithms make it very tough.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am known for my music production, song writing/ composition skills. I see myself as a creator, able to work within any genre of music, creating unique vibes. I saw a funny quote online that talked about people that love all types of music. I am “Poly(Jam)orous”
I am most proud of the work I’ve been involved with over the past few years. I’ve been able to connect with many local artists and put out some really cool projects. In doing this I’ve been able to connect other artists as well. I want all to see that music is about creativity, It is not a contest at all, we should only be competing with ourselves to better our craft daily.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I think I am more than just a beat maker. I am a businessman & someone who is pushing what it means to be a producer. Helping where I can with song ideas, writing, composing, even sales and marketing. I also feel like I’m a connector. I am able to bring different types of musical artists together to create some awesome tracks.
