Daily Inspiration: Meet Vallencourt

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vallencourt

Hi Vallencourt, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Mitch and Darren played for a band called Benedict Arnold out of STL. Dalena played with Queen City Saints in Springfield Mo. We had done some shows together around 2009 and really hit it off as friends. We hadn’t all seen each other in many years and Dalena and Mitch happened to be at a show in Joplin supporting some old friends in 2022. Mitch had been working with Darren and some other musicians on a new band and invited Dalena to come try out in St. Louis. Thus, Vallencourt was born. We have rotated through a few members and are currently a four piece with our newest member, Kenny, From Rumluck on bass. Kenny has been with us since August of 2024. We have continued to make and play music and we are only going to go up from here.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, haha. We have had some line up changes. With those, there’s no bad blood. Dalena still lives in Springfield Mo and is finishing school. We all lead busy lives and crazy schedules, so sometimes it can be challenging to get everyone together, but we love what we do and have been patient with the process.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We play punk rock right here in St Louis. We each bring different experiences and backgrounds to the table. We are known for high energy shows and Dalena usually jumping into the crowd and trying to reach you about you car’s extended warranty. We remain humble with each show, each group we meet and want to support and see all of our fellow musicians in the community succeed. Last year we were able to put our our first EP, “Five Headed Beast” and had a very successful tour in Florida where we met and played with some great people!

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
Our friends and family. Everyone in the music community in St Louis and beyond. Fellow musicians and bands that have had our backs and helped us along the way. You all have been an integral part of where we are today. And to our fans and those who show up to the shows!
