Today we’d like to introduce you to Helena Carey.

Hi Helena, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My story begins on a 2,000-mile drive from sunny Southern California to beautiful St. Charles, Missouri. My college sweetheart and I decided to move in together and start a life together in a new city. After being out here for about nine months, I proudly say I would do it again in a heartbeat. I have been blessed to meet so many kind and wonderful people that instantly made me feel at home. There are so many great restaurants, event halls, and outdoor activities to participate in that I have to share all my great finds with others through social media. I aim to showcase the city of St. Charles and the state of Missouri in its prettiest light by creating aesthetically pleasing and informative content! With my past work as a creative director and product photographer, I want to grow a trusted relationship with local businesses to let everyone know everything they offer.

Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
Though the move out to St. Charles was smooth sailing, I needed help finding a reliable employer. With my B.A. in Sociology and usually able to find employment very quickly, it has been a struggle while in Missouri. After a few months with no success, I devoted all my time to my e-commerce store and content creation. This is a different and exciting road with its struggles, but after a short time of doing this work, I know this was the right decision for me and that I will be successful.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Champagne Mami™?
After my mother overcame breast cancer in 2017, we have been focused on making the most out of life and creating something magical. In October 2021, my mother and I decided to join minds and create a women’s affordable luxury brand, Champagne Mami™. Referenced after Drake’s popular IG handle, @champagnepapi, Champagne Mami™ offers glamorous cosmetics, accessories, glassware, and jewelry made to make you feel like royalty. Our goal is to make women feel beautiful without breaking the bank. We are a special 2 woman army! Everything Champagne Mami™ is handled by my mother or me, from social media to packing orders. Our focus is the consumer! We want to support everyone who supports us, especially other entrepreneurs or small businesses. We constantly seek content creators, makeup artists, and models who want to collaborate! In our first year alone, we had over 600 orders, and we are continuously growing! We offer constant sales and bundles and want everyone to get their hands on Champagne Mami™.

How do you define success?
That is one of my favorite questions! Every day is an opportunity for you to progress in becoming the best version of yourself. My definition of success combines progress, motivation, self-awareness, and self-worth. This looks different for everyone, so being self-aware enough to know who you are and what you want from life is so important. If you can look at yourself in the mirror every day and be proud of who you’re looking at and what you’ve accomplished, then you’re successful.
