Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeffrey Davis
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Dr. Jeffrey Davis. I’m a Board-Certified Physician, and most of my career has been spent in large healthcare systems like Kaiser Permanente and BJC/Washington University School of Medicine. While I’ve helped many thousands of patients, I believe that healthcare is a mess.
So I started Link Primary Care to bring back medicine the way it used to be, with great access to physicians, quality time with patients, and trusting personal relationships.
Here’s the big problem: families can’t get into see their doctor when they need to. And if they are lucky enough to get an appointment, they only get a few minutes to deal with all of their problems. Primary Care doctors are the best defense to prevent illness and fix health problems. When patients can’t get into see their doctor, they ignore small health problems until they’re big problems. For example, it’s much better to treat high blood pressure and prevent a stroke.
And there’s another problem: when patients can’t see their doctor, they go looking for care in other places. Families don’t get high quality, affordable, preventive care. Instead, they get expensive labs, imaging tests like CT and MRI scans, ER and Urgent Care visits, and procedures that they don’t need. So families pay more but still get terrible medical care.
We take care of families from all over St. Louis, and we also support local businesses with healthcare for their employees. Great healthcare doesn’t have to be expensive, and half of small businesses in the US can’t afford health benefits at all. Our plans match the needs of local companies, so they can support employees without breaking the bank.
We started very small, and we’re proud to have grown to three physicians in our St. Louis office.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not always been an easy path!
We opened our company in 2020, when COVID was in full force. Back then, patients were afraid of coming to a doctor’s office for any reason.
We are a direct primary care (DPC) clinic, so we focus on patient access, long and relaxed visits, and building trusting relationships with our patients – and we cut out the interference of insurance companies. Insurance companies tell doctors and patients what to do, but they don’t know how to practice medicine. Instead of insurance, we charge a simple membership fee for unlimited visits with our doctors.
Traditional healthcare makes it hard for doctors to practice in this model. There are very few independent doctor’s offices, partially because of lawsuits and noncompete agreements from large health systems.
Despite these challenges, we continue to grow and believe that we’re doing what’s best for our patients.
We’ve been impressed with Link Primary Care, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Link Primary Care is a Family Medicine clinic that provides great access to physicians, quality time with patients, trusting relationships, and excellence in clinical care for an affordable price.
We offer unlimited appointments, both in-person and virtual, without copays or deductibles.
Our services are very broad and comprehensive, with care for both adults and children, including management of chronic illnesses, disease prevention, wellness, women’s health, and urgent care services.
We also run our own wholesale pharmacy to help families save money on the medications they need.
Finally, we believe in clear costs and price transparency, with full coverage for a simple membership fee and no surprise bills.
Supporting local St. Louis companies with healthcare for their employees is part of our mission. Successful businesses understand that people are their most important asset, and health benefits are key to maintaining a happy and productive workforce. People look to employers to provide healthcare they can count on, and we offer plans designed for the needs of local small businesses in our community.
Any big plans?
