Today we’d like to introduce you to Pierre Lamour.
Hi Pierre, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am from Martinique (Gros-Morne), and my parents are of Haitian descent. The restaurant was inspired by my grandmother “Siline, “whose passion was cooking and having a great time. The restaurant is a tribute to my grandmother and my whole family. Ultimately, my family is my inspiration for going for my dreams, and this is how Siline’s restaurant and bar came to fruition.
We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been the smoothest road because we had a couple of character-building challenges, but we have overcome them. The feedback is always positive and encouraging; yes, we’re small but mighty. We are new to the area, and people are starting to know and slowly taste our food.
We’ve been impressed with Siline’s Restaurant and Bar, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share about what you do and what sets you apart?
Siline’s restaurant and bar is a family-owned business driven to share the heritage of the West Indies culture with the St.Louis region. We specialize in West Indies and Caribbean cuisine. The aroma when you walk into the restaurant and the atmosphere is unique.
Please talk to us about happiness and what makes you happy.
What makes me happy is being able to make a positive impact in my community and share my culture through culinary and entertainment.
