Exploring Life & Business with Rochelle Williams of Stacked and Curvy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rochelle Williams.

Hi Rochelle, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, how can you bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Yes. I started my business about two years ago. As a plus-size woman, finding clothes I liked my size was challenging. Sometimes when I find something, it will be more pricey because it’s “plus size.” So I decided to open my boutique where plus-size women can feel and look good. Of course, I had to create a section for our smaller friends called the “bestfriend” section. Then, you can remember the accessories to match the outfits. I am in two years in, and I’m still learning ways to better myself.

We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has it’s up and downs. Especially with the economy hit hard for a lot of people. Some weeks are better than the next. Has an entrepreneur, and knowing you want to better yourself. You will continue to work hard and find ways to overcome any obstacles.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next, you can tell us more about your business.
With stacked and curvy, I am proud of how far I am. I take pride in getting to know my customers, their needs, and what they are looking for—a boutique where you can find quality clothes at an affordable price. I am very proud of how small my business is, but steadily progressing for the better. I take the most pride in returning customers who tell others about Stacked and Curvy. For supporters to come back and tell others about me is a different type of happiness. It lets me know I’m doing something right.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
One of my biggest lessons is to never worry about social media likes or comments. When I first started, I saw other boutiques get 100s of likes and mine getting 2 or 3. However, I’ve sold out on items with 4 likes within two days. So, never compare yourself. Also, another lesson I’ve learned is being an entrepreneur will always be a learning experience. No matter how many years you’ve been in business. You will always learn new ways to better your business and yourself. So never be too hard on yourself or worried about what the next is doing. The proper support will always come. Just ensure you do it right the first time so they continue returning.
