Exploring Life & Business with Tim Moore of 25 Financial

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tim Moore

Hi Tim, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in St. Louis in South County and later Jefferson County. I went to Webster University and graduated with a BA in Audio Production. I spent the first 15 years of my career in ministry as a Worship and later Executive Pastor at various churches. I still serve at my local church, Faith Community in House Springs. That’s where my wife and I met and got married 20 years ago this July! We moved across the country a bit, with stops in Green Bay, WI and then to sunny South Florida (I’ll let you guess why that location came second). Along the way we were blessed with two wonderful children, and decided we wanted to return to our hometown to let them grow up close to family. I transitioned my careers in late 2020 and started a business as a financial advisor. I began with a small RIA (registered investment advisory) firm in St. Louis and soon after joined a group of advisors in Kirkwood called 25 Financial.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Of course not! No journeys worth taking are smooth sailing. I was filled with a ton of doubt and anxiety with each move. But I’m not someone who can stay put for very long, and I thrive on challenges and audacious goals. I remember both moves across the country were challenging for different reasons. The move to Green Bay was difficult because it was our first time leaving the only hometown we’d ever known, and struggled to adjust to a different climate and culture. I realized I needed much more vitamin D in my life, so the initial move to Florida was full of excitement and expectancy. We were quickly met with an unforeseen loss of work for both my and my wife in the first 12 months of living there. But I felt very strongly that we were there for a reason, and I wasn’t about to pack up a Uhaul and head back home with my tail in between my legs. We found wonderful new places of employment and community in Palm Beach County, and spent the next few years growing and stretching. My most recent transition from ministry to business owner filled me with more anxiety than I had every previously faced. What was I doing at almost 40 with two kids and a mortgage starting over? After battling a ton of insecurity and imposter syndrome, I was able to get to the other side and now have a thriving business serving families that I truly care about!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
We are a comprehensive wealth management firm that specializes in serving physicians, business owners, and other accredited investors. We provide family-CFO services, everything from retirement planning and management to tax mitigation, estate planning, insurance, college savings, and more. Our goal is to help our clients earn more time and money by creating the elusive 25th hour of the day for them. We do all of this because we are driven by radical generosity. And we want our clients to thrive and be generous with what they’ve been given as well. More results. More life. More of their 24 hours. Actually, let’s make it 25.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I’m kind of a jack of all trades. We have a small farm with a few acres west of St. Louis, and I love working inside and outside of our property. I come from a family of farmers so I think some of that is in my blood. I’m quick to fix things myself, even if I probably shouldn’t! I also have a creative side to me, expressed mostly through music. One of my favorite things to do is sit down at the piano and create original sounds and melodies.
