Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Brandt.
Hi Amanda, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am Amanda Brandt, a Realtor® in St. Louis County, St. Charles County, and surrounding areas, and mom of three boys. I was previously a teacher for five years. I decided to become a Realtor® when my twin boys were three months old (5 years ago now!). It was a shift after being a teacher for five years, but it was 100% worth it. I have always been passionate about serving others and wanting the best for them. When I watched my family and friends experiencing inadequate representation during the buying and selling their largest investments, I knew they deserved better! I began my real estate career and never looked back. I love guiding my clients through preparing their homes to sell and negotiating on their behalf.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of my struggles has been learning to accept that being a Realtor® and a mom to littles will be chaotic and stressful at times. But it is possible! Before becoming a Realtor®, I was told I couldn’t have a business and raise children. I was told I should stay home with them while they were little, but I, thankfully, did not listen and knew that every family is different. It’s disheartening that moms are being told this because I know moms who get overwhelmingly lost in motherhood and don’t know how to find themselves. I’m so thankful that I have a career I am passionate about outside of motherhood and a supportive husband who knows that I can (and will) do anything I set my mind to. Each part of my life renews and strengthens the other. My success in real estate is in large measure due to the love I have for my family. Nothing makes me happier than heading home to my boys. When it’s time for them to go to school, nothing makes me happier than returning to work. You can do both. You can have a career that you love and enjoy and still love and serve your family well. It takes sacrifice and creativity, but anything worth having does.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Amanda Brandt, Realtor®?
My goal for my clients is to give them confidence in the decisions they need to make throughout the buying and selling process. The home buying and selling process is extensive and requires many details and deadlines to be managed. I educate my clients on what is happening in the market so that they can make the best decisions for their families. This starts with being confident in the lifestyle you want and then exploring what neighborhoods and communities will reflect that lifestyle. Home is the heart of where my clients learn, grow and love. Home is where you can be your true self and rest. Is your home in a community that supports these values and the lifestyle you want? Most recently, I received my Global Luxury Certification. I had to meet some big goals to make it possible.
This designation allows me to give my clients the following:
– Local expertise with a global reach
– Prompt communication
– Education on the market and process
– Knowledgeable and skillful professional
– Detail-oriented approach
– Your wants and needs anticipate and clarified
– Strong negotiating skills
– Home marketing that reflects your lifestyle
Are any books, apps, podcasts, or blogs that help you do your best?
Alissa Jenkins and Katy Caldwell at The Hustle Humbly Podcast have tremendously helped me, from best business practices to marketing to working with clients. They have been a wealth of information. No one tells you this, but real estate school and passing the exam gets you a license; they don’t tell you how to run a business or be a Realtor®. You have to figure that out on your own! My broker, Kim Magaletta, and the office I am part of have helped me grow my career and encourage and demonstrate professionalism in an industry that, unfortunately, has been known for unprofessional behavior. We are changing that portrayal. I love collaborating with others who own their businesses! I started the Women’s Core Collective for STL business owners to collaborate, serve, strategize, and grow together. They have been a huge support for me. We always share resources, go to each other for advice, and build each other up. Being surrounded by women with the same values and goals has helped me become a more skilled and empathetic Realtor®.
