Hidden Gems: Meet Jade Jones of Party On The Rocks, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jade Jones.

Hi Jade, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
It all started with me being a fun-loving social butterfly, with a knack for making cocktails and entertaining. I’ve always been the outgoing and larger-than-life friend who enjoyed a cocktail. Everyone that knew me knew I always had a liquid concession stand in my trunk, and as soon as I walked in, I would always hear, “Jade, make me something,” lol. One day (almost 6 years ago, to be exact), a light bulb went off, and I said, “Hey, I can capitalize off of this.” So, I decided to go for it and I haven’t looked back. I knew that if there was ever a time for me to take a chance on myself, it was then and it paid off for me. I attribute a lot of my success and courage to Trina Braxton’s Bar Chix concept because she inspired me to create my mobile bartending business, Party On The Rocks!

We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I gained a lot of exposure from hair stylist Whitney Marie’s Cosmo & Cocktails events. She and I worked together on the event, which featured some of Saint Louis’ most notable cosmetologists, makeup artists, clothing designers, etc. I was in the room with some amazing people, a few of whom became clients of mine and lifelong friends. That was my huge “breakout moment,” if you will. From there, my brand spoke for itself.

It hasn’t been smooth, especially within the last few years, but it’s always been worth it.

I took a huge hit during the pandemic, which caused me to reinvent myself. I created the “Party On the Go” party pack, a self-service setup that included drinks, garnishes, and everything one would need to host a small gathering in their home. I didn’t feel comfortable working in such an unpredictable environment. Even if I did, there was a nationwide shut down which caused me to refund thousands of dollars to my clients who had to cancel weddings, birthday parties, and other events. Because I couldn’t, in good faith, keep their money, knowing so many people had lost jobs or other sources of income. I knew God would provide what I needed, and it didn’t have to come to the financial detriment of others, so that was an easy decision to make. Although I work a typical 9-5, my business income helps keep me afloat, so with losing so much during COVID, I had to get creative quickly and figure out how to maintain. I’m a mom of 2 daughters, Jordyn and Jaxyn, so I had to ensure whatever happened was as seamless as possible so it wouldn’t further interrupt the day-to-day life my girls were accustomed to. In addition to the party pack, I sell gallon-sized drinks and adult beverage pouches that went over quite well, the most popular being the Bourbon Peach Lemonade, which is still my best-selling “signature drink.” One thing I know for sure and that I stand on is that sometimes the blessing is simply in maintaining if I didn’t know that before 2020, I certainly know now!
