Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Nguyen.
Hi Emily, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
It all started after the birth of my first son (about 8 years ago). What started as a weight loss journey has transformed into so much more. My fitness journey led me to discover Kayla Itsines and her program formerly known as BBG (Bikini Beach Bodies), now called High-Intensity Strength. It made me fall in love with fitness and caring for my body. What started as a desire to be skinny quickly changed into me wanting to be strong. Since then, I have had two more baby boys and I have received the following certifications through the National Association of Sports Medicine: Personal Trainer, Women’s Fitness Specialist, Nutrition Specialist. I discovered that my true passion is in health and fitness. My goal is to make other women feel strong and confident no matter what season of life they are in. I am currently offering my services as an Accountability Coach and I released my own 12-week Pelvic Floor Strengthening Guide. My dream is to own my own business coaching women and helping them achieve their fitness goals. As much as I love my corporate job, I would love to be able to quit and pursue my passion full time, whilst being home for my boys more.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Finding the time to start and manage a business has been very challenging. I am currently working full time and I also have three boys (8, 6, 3). I have so many ideas and dreams, but I feel like I just never have enough time. It’s very difficult to balance and juggle all that comes with being a working mom. I keep reminding myself that I have come so far and that I have to keep pushing. No one else can make your dreams come true but you.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I am currently offering my services as an Accountability Coach. I also have a 12-week Pelvic Floor Strengthening Guide which is available for purchase on my website. My Pelvic Floor Program is near and dear to my heart. After struggling with ab separation and leakage during exercise, I decided to start researching and that was the start of my program. After tons of research, I designed a 12-week program and then tested it on myself. After 12 weeks my core was visibly tighter and my embarrassing leakage issue was greatly improved, that’s when I knew that I had to share it with other women. My program addresses diaphragmatic breathing, which is the key to a strong core. It consists of 12 weeks, with each section getting progressively more challenging. The exercises take 1bout 15 minutes and are meant to be done three times a week. They can be done alongside another workout program. Something that sets me apart is the fact that I am a 39-year-old mom of three boys. I work full time, juggle an online business, and I still find the time to care for myself. If I can do it, anyone can!
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
The podcast The Cathy Heller Show really gave me the confidence I needed to take action. She always says to “just start, even if it’s messy.” Her guests are inspiring and I always get new ideas when listening.
