Today we’d like to introduce you to Chantay Hadley.

Hi Chantay, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My business was just a fledgling operation before the events of 2020. As a small indie publishing company, our unique niche that combines legitimate publishing company services with self-publishing power (known to the industry as Hybrid publishing) wasn’t very well known.

As families began to lose loved ones, jobs, businesses, and hope; Midwest Creations Publishing (MWCP) saw the opportunity at hand – to give every person the ability to tell their story. The opportunity to provide hope, encouragement, and uplifting words to so many that suffer, from those that suffer right along with them. This fueled MWCP’s mission statement for 2020-2021. We offered a free writers conference, set up a free mentoring service to help people tell their stories, and have begun the process of creating the FOCEE Foundation (fundraiser via Patreon Acct) and Four Rivers Ministry and Family Service Center as a resource for several mid county St. Louis municipalities.

This global pandemic has taught us that no man is an island. While we know the fundraisers won’t generate all of the funds necessary for the 501c3 filings of the ministry and foundation; we are determined to do more than just tell the stories. We want to be an active part of making those stories have happy endings. With the delay in stimulus aid, it became clear to us that families cannot depend on government processes to help them in times of dire need.

Our committed team across 3 states has worked tirelessly to build our catalog and has dedicated our resources, time, and finances to the process of creating relief, provision, and hope for our struggling communities.

Our hope is that more of these efforts will continue. At the beginning of the pandemic, many resources appeared to help families get through these rough times. Now, the resources are fairly depleted. More is needed. When asked how a publishing company could possibly be the solution to these problems, we shrugged and answered, “we create solutions with words, why not add actions to them?”

That is exactly what we did. Midwest Creations Publishing has become Midwest Creations Publishing & Media, LLC. We not only publish the stories, but we are also working on recording songs and filming the movies. We will become our communities voice. And when they need help along the way? As FOCEE Foundation and the Four Rivers Ministry and Family Services Center, we will be there.

We have created an annual convention and gala entitled FAITHCON to bring fun-filled entertainment opportunities to families, vendor opportunities to small businesses, and expand media opportunities for this generation and the next to evolve in self-expression, talent, and generation of revenue that better serves the community.

For every problem, there is a solution. MWCP is stepping up to the plate to do its part. In doing so, we hope to teach the world that every single person has been created as a solution to a problem. And that solution starts with you.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The obstacles and challenges we continue to face are standard for most small businesses in metropolitan areas which include affordable marketing opportunities, venue space for events, community buy-in for events as well as products, bi- vocational staff which limits time and production, and a limited budget.

Our work included but is not limited to: Publication of over 17 literary works in digital, audio, and written formats by 4 authors, a women’s prayer group called the Esther Generation (formerly known as The MWCP Sista Circle) that conducts monthly empowering events titled Saturday Spa Days that have produced a workbook series entitled Spa 4The Soul, a magazine still in planning stages titled MWCP & Media News, an annual community event – FAITHCON CONVENTION conducted in a hybrid format with another to be added, The FAITHCON Cosplay Gala in May of next year.

We also provide hybrid publishing services that include an affiliate author program for authors needing financial assistance with publishing packages.

What would you say has been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
We have learned that helping people and showing love to our community by being a resource and a voice is more substantial than just making money.

As a business, our desire is to touch the hearts of others in hopes that they will pay it forward by fulfilling a need and helping someone’s dream become reality.

We realize that producing revenue is a necessity to our continually doing these things, but we are confident that with our Source, our creator, and the One that is without limits, we will always have everything we need to be the solution we strive to be.
