Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Hart.
Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
I started as a kid who used to watch his mom as the camera person for the family. I loved looking at the photos she captured and wanted to do the same. In high school, I dabbled in photography. We had a Photoshop class, and I was good. So my teacher told me I should think about doing photography, but at the time, my mind was set on being a doctor. Fast forward to college, I was a biology major but needed to be fulfilled. I took a photography class for fun and fell in love with it. I credit many of where I am today to Wiley Price of the STL AMERICAN. He was a very strong and encouraging mentor who pushed me and helped me to take my photography to a new level. After my tenure there, I went on to do my photography, which is where we are today. There have been ups and downs, but the journey is worth it. The connections and relationships I made while shooting would change a thing.
Alright, let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
It has been a challenging road to where I am today. The birth of my daughter was a change up, from being able to take any photo gig to now thinking about making sure I spend time with her. There have been many other difficulties, but being a dad is one that I’m always trying to balance. I never want my daughter to feel like daddy is always working. It gets easier to learn the balance, and it helps when she tells me, “Daddy, go take pictures and hurry back so we can play.” She will let me know when I’ve been away too long.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a photographer who specializes in family and event photography. I would say that I am best known for making your shoot as easy as possible. We all know how crazy it can be to get ready for your big events, so we strive to come in and release some of the worries. HartPhotographySTL is an all-around media team that provides photography and video content. So, as you enjoy your guest or the moment of your shoot, we capture all the special moments. I am most proud of the connections that I have made over the years. My photography has allowed me to travel and meet so many amazing people. What will enable us to stand out from others is that we put you and your family and needs first. We know it is hard to spend money on photos when we are all used to taking them on our phones, so we help ease that burden and let you know that these would be memories you can pass down to your kids.

What matters most to me is that I provide photos or videos that will touch you no matter when you look back at them.
