Meet Alfredo Solis of Pueblo Solis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alfredo Solis.

Alright, thank you for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
My mom and I opened the restaurant in 1998. She was 75 when we opened and cooked every day. I had the restaurant experience, and she had all the family recipes. Even though mom is no longer with us, we still serve her food 25 years later. We make all our dishes and our 3 signature salsa fresh every day. We love our neighborhood and how we know most of our customers by name.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
We have been blessed to have mostly the same staff all these years, which is the key to a great restaurant. We have struggles like any restaurant, but we can get through a lot with our loyal customers.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We are a family-owned Mexican restaurant that has been here for 25 years. We pride ourselves on our freshly made cuisine and margaritas. There are a lot of choices for restaurants out there, and we want to be the one you return to.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I created Pueblo with just me and my mom. She is the matriarch of this restaurant. After that, it is just me running the show.
