Meet Dominique Stringer of Action No Mercy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dominique Stringer.

Hi Dominique, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was an underdog going up. Always overlooked. Didn’t think I would go to college since I didn’t take school seriously till my senior year of high school. Went to college on a full ride to Lawson State, didn’t really the court after work hard every day as a freshman. Lost motivated. After my freshman year, they released me out of my scholarships. Went to Hiwassee college where I got a second chance. All I kept saying was “when it’s time for action, give them no mercy”. Left that school with an amazing college career. Lead in steals, ast, rebounds, and points. Soon as I graduated, I started my semi pro career in Auburn, Alabama. My team moved the second year of my contract so I moved to St. Louis. I started coaching at a private school and realized a lot of these young kids don’t know fundamentals. So I wanted to teach them. I wrote out my business plan. Took 4 years but I’m now here, changing lives.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been a very bumpy road. I’ve faced a lot of struggles. I use to hold basketball tryouts and maybe 4 people would show up. I would apply for jobs and never hear anything. I would reach out to coaches they would blow me off. I wouldn’t be able to get access to a gym. Clients were hard to target because nobody knew me. It was a lot of sad nights where i wanted to give up and move back to Atlanta because things weren’t happening on my timing.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Action No Mercy ?
I’m a coach, trainer, recruiter and advocate for the underdogs. I create recruiting profiles for my players. Including game tape, workout footage, transcripts, and introductions. I personally contact college, visit, and meet coaches and staff to make sure it’s a great fit for my players. I train my player working on their game. I coach the highest competition of AAU basketball. Truly 1 of few women Coach 17u boys.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
So many people deserve credit. My mother is my number one supporter. My lifeline. My aunt Melanie is someone who helped me see this vision through. Marc Powells have me the biggest opportunity and believed in me. If it wasn’t for him I would’ve gave up trying to see out this vision here in St. Louis. Kevin Tracy trained me growing up. He was wanted I needed I owe him a great you. Coach Tony, Lowest, Williams and soo many more of my youth instructors. Jennings high school opened up doors for me. I’m sure I’m forgetting some but my village has been a blessing.
