Hi Kaylen, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I started making music when I was eight, following molestation. That made my pen my best friend and the voice others needed to hear. I paused my college books to devote myself strictly to providing for myself and my dreams. Sometimes the college moment isn’t always clutch. The name FunDipp produced a wave not just for the LGBTQ community but also for people afraid to stand in all that they are unabashed. Stardom for me broke at the age of 17 when I began rapping in my college dorm on Instagram and gained millions of insights into my feelings. If you thought the previous wave was strong, the following would wreck them, and I won’t stop until everyone on Earth has heard from me.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Hell Nah, no way. Life still isn’t smooth for me; I think the most serious difficulty is consistency because despite all the effort I put in, I still feel like I’m being ignored. I feel like the city could be a snake, so I must be cautious about who I share my talents and give myself. The hardest part, in my opinion, must be finding solid allies who truly support you in your big moment instead of working against you.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Rapper, singer/songwriter, creative director, author, and true artist are all things I am. I am strong in everything, and I specialize in everything. I like to tell stories through my music; making bitches awful is a delight since the truth hurts, and I’m recognized for my excellent flows and interwoven body of lyrics that keep the girls on their toes with what’s happening today. I’m most proud of my commitment to gaining this significant exposure without any push or promotion, me bringing in my streams without assistance, and no one directing my actions other than myself as the center of my art and experiencing significant outcomes as a result. I stand out from other people because in FunDipp Dasweetadabetta, I truly love music, so I’d say I’m just on a different mission dressed differently. I’m raw and true and am not afraid to speak the truth.
