Today we’d like to introduce you to Ladaisha Collins
Hi LaDaisha, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started braiding hair when I was like 12yrs old. I would do my brother and one of my good friend’s hair. Once everyone start seeing me do their hair, it was like all of sudden everyone wanted me to do their hair. I did hair at school for some of the basketball players, then my art teacher even drew me standing up braiding a student’s hair for an Art picture. After that I continue to do friends and family hair. Over the years I just continue to do hair more and more. I worked in 2 shops at the age of 15. It just went up from there. In between me doing hair as a young adult I had other jobs but I never stopped doing hair because I felt like that was my passion. I still have some of the same clients today at the age 36. Their kids are now my clients. I love my clients. They’re more like my family more than anything. Now I am a wife with 2 children of my own and still striving to be better.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
when I launched BraidsByLaDaisha , I felt like I didn’t know how to reach a larger audience that I was seeking. The lack of social media presence at that time, I think set me back, due to I didn’t know how “be my brand “ and what I mean by that is, being an ambassador, and showcasing my talent, which is an art for me. With social media, it has helped me tremendously with reaching a higher following, and being able to target so many different audiences . Social media, has been a great platform for me to show my work as well as model for my business, thus giving me a great level of confidence in my brand. This has allowed me to take BraidsByLaDaisha to another level . I’m grateful for all the clients I have touched in so many ways and how many clients I receive through marketing
As you know, we’re big fans of BraidsByLaDaisha . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I specialize in braids especially my knotless braids. I like my parts to be very clean lol! I am very flexible when it comes to my clients, I’m compassionate, creative brain, creativity into the experience of my art.
What I would like for you all to know about my brand is I’m very passionate about what I do, I love to see when my clients are able to look in the mirror and see there vision they sat in the chair to get came to life. It makes me so happy to be there braider
How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I’ve always been open to collaboration with someone. I think being able to collaborate, share techniques and ideas would be great. I think the greatest support is word of mouth, advertising, and leaving reviews.
