Today we’d like to introduce you to Leena Choudhary.
Hi Leena, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My business journey started in India when I was 12, my Dad was involved with coal trading and watching him inspired me to be a business owner myself. I graduated with a MA of Commerce in 2001 and moved to the US that same year. At that time, I was working in a family business before starting my own tutoring company in 2012. From there, my business grew and I was able to launch two new businesses for consulting and recruiting.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Being a single mom, raising two kids and growing three businesses (which sometimes feels like having three more kids!) so far from home has not been easy. In the beginning especially, I had to work to understand the American way of doing business and build trust between me and my clients. Also, being Asian American has presented challenges that I wouldn’t have overcome without the support of the local community and organizations.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Placement Experts USA is a MWBE certified recruitment company. We use a combination of traditional recruiting methods and AI technology to deliver solutions to growing businesses for hiring and talent recruitment. We work closely with our clients from day one, assigning a dedicated team to understand their overall mission and hiring goals. As a women-owned, Asian-American owned business, we are committed to diversity and inclusion and are proud to be an example of success for the Asian-American community.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Learn, adapt, and persevere and you will succeed. Don’t limit yourself to what other people in your field do — I like to help the community that helped me by sharing who I am and my experience, giving lectures about my faith and my culture. This volunteer work, whether it be through the Business Chamber, the Magic House, non-profit youth groups, or faith-based organizations, both contributes to the community that helped me and grows my network in organic ways.
