Today we’d like to introduce you to Brese Squires
Hi Brese, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Well I started my Musical Journey as a kid singing in Church, music class & Talent Shows. Those early days were the Root of it all for me. Growing up in a Small College town of Cape Girardeau Mo. there wasn’t alot of opportunities for a music artist. I knew it was something I really enjoyed. In College I began to be recognized as the R&B music guy. I was known around the Campus and around town as the guy who sings in all the Talent Shows. Later I moved to St.Louis and there is where I got my 1st Break into the Music Biz. I met A local Music Producer and he invited me to his music studio to Record my 1st Song ” “Make It Bounce”. In 2001 My 1st Single was a Club Party Song that got my name out there as a New Upcoming Artist. I went on to meet different musicians and did many Shows & rubbed elbows & met alot of Celebrities. Before you knew it I had my 1st Album. “N-LUV-W-DESTINY”
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It was a hard road at the beginning. As you go on and build your Brand things get a little bit easier and more doors begin to open. Some of the struggles are trying to get more publicity. I always kept on Grinding and when I got on Social media things opened up to a Broader Audience. By being on Social media I got my 1st Break into Radio & Concerts & Movie Appearances & Music Expos & Even Airplay Overseas.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
R&B Singer & Songwriter is What I Love & Passionate about. But when I’m not on Stages or entertaining I still have a 9-5 as a Security Officer. I been in the Law Enforcement Field for 31 years. I been performing and making music professionally for 23 years.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I Love St.Louis, I just wish we had a Professional NBA Basketball Team So I can see some of my Favorite Players in person more often.
