Today we’d like to introduce you to Charles Berry III.
Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, how did you get started?
My name is Charles E. Berry III. My story starts on 5/6 when I got my first guitar and had my first “performance.” I fell in love with music, played violin, and eventually played in bands in middle and high school. I took some time off and finally got back into music around age 20/21 and have been playing around town ever since.
We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Like most others, my path to becoming a musician has been filled with highs and lows. Being close to going on tours across the globe has been some of the biggest letdowns. I’ve been playing my grandfather’s music for a long time, but my journey has yet to call for the road.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am an expert in the 50s rock style. Many people overlook it and gravitate more towards the ’60s-’80s styles. However, I do mix it with a more modern style of playing from trying to emulate my favorite bands.
What changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I wonder about this for the music industry. In the next ten years, I foresee a large decline in the use of instruments in songs and more use of A.I. to create whatever comes to your imagination a lot more easily.
