Today we’d like to introduce you to Ernesto Equis.
Hi Ernesto, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
In the spring of 2020, I commenced my exit of a 15-year career in the Culinary Arts, and redirected my creativity towards other aspects of my life; facets that in retrospect had merely laid dormant, perhaps standing by for its significant conditions to arise.
Fast forward, here we are.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Our entire life is riddled with hurdles and common sufferings; these roads are anything but smooth, but we make the best of bumpy bricks.
For many years, heartache and a sense of infinite sadness plagued my subconscious; that sorrow manifested in various ways, time and time again.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Today, I would say that I’m best known for creating custom garments, capturing raw life through photography, and composing cinematic documents reflecting my personal life.
I feel that what may set me apart from others, is that I don’t necessarily see myself as apart from others; more so: I feel I may simply be, a part of others.
What do you like and dislike about the city?
What I love most about St. Louis is its soil, figuratively speaking.
Our grounds are fertile, our iron is hot, our sentients are ready.
I feel that my dislikes for the city are of insufficient amount to compose any type of list; for any dissatisfaction with our home, would only be a reflection of discomfort within ourselves.
