Today we’d like to introduce you to Kyle Griffin.
Hi Kyle, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Well, I was always into fashion since I was a kid. I use to get compliments about how I dress and how I put my outfits together. So, I started company called Geek’d up Clothing and it was very successful but some things happen so I had to change the name to Heir Clothing and never look back. I also want to put it out there as well I was co-founder of Deux Magazine and that help me so much with the fashion scene as well. It help me to know how to handle fashion shows when I was invited and much more.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Fashion does has its up downs when it come with support and even trying to design as well. It wasn’t a smooth road but you have to overcome the hurdles that you face. I had to change my name for certain reason and I felt like I shouldn’t have because of my fashion knowledge now. The new name I have I feel is better and it give me freedom to design.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am most proud of the fashion award I won at the Side Hustle award show that meant a lot to me. What I love most I when I see someone wear my clothes, it makes me feel good cause I created something for someone that see my vision.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
The advice I would give someone trying to find a mentor is to find someone that has been doing fashion for a while. They can network and ask questions. Go on Instagram or Facebook find someone that is really well in fashion and most of them will give you the blueprint. It’s very hard to answer this question because I didn’t have a mentor, I learn everything on my own. So, I take pride when someone ask me for help or guidance, I will give them everything I have knowledge-based
