Rising Stars: Meet Maggi Gonzalez of Identity Salon and Spa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maggi Gonzalez.

Hi Maggi, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hello, I am Maggi Gonzalez. I am 20 years old, and I am an STL hairstylist. I graduated high school in 2019 and decided I wanted to go to cosmetology school. It was stressful since I had to learn hair during COVID-19 and graduated from cosmetology school in 2021. I went to a salon and stayed there for a year and a half. Now I started my new adventure at a new salon.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been crazy. Since COVID-19 was when I was in cosmetology school. Learning hair in cosmetology was crazy because a lot of my experience was online. Then once I graduated, I went to a salon but knew that it wasn’t the right fit for me.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us more about your work?
I am a hairstylist in St. Louis, Missouri. I specialize in color, extensions, and spray tans. I am known for my dimensional colors. I am most proud of how many certifications I have.

Can you talk to us about happiness and what makes you happy?
It is making people feel beautiful.
