Today we’d like to introduce you to Nathan Loesch
Nathan, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I discovered my love of woodworking early on in high school. I enrolled in both wood and metal working courses and always had an interest in the arts. After high school I joined the Navy, but realized after I finished my contract that the love of woodworking and metal working still existed. I began working on projects out of my one bedroom apartment while continuing my education at Tulsa Welding School. The years went on and I became a machinist/welder all while continuing to do wood working on the side, but it started becoming harder to balance as more orders were coming in. I decided to take the leap into running my own business and the rest is history.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Starting out in the woodworking industry takes a lot of building. You have to build up your client base, tools, and also your experience. Being able to put out the perfect product in a timely manner, as well as grasping a clients dream piece can be very challenging.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a custom wood and metal worker. My main focus is woodworking, but also have formal training in welding and fabrication. Creating a complete piece of furniture is what I am most proud of. Being able to do everything from the wood top to metal legs and everything in between.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I’d like to develop my own furniture line. Creating a specific style I enjoy and can share with customers around the world.
