Today we’d like to introduce you to Dominique.
Hi Dominique, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My journey started when I had to retire from being a cosmetologist professional leaving a business, no 2 businesses that I had worked my way up to becoming part owner of here in St. Louis Missouri. My husband and I received a great surprise of expecting our 4th child together and I was high risk and couldn’t work so the tide was changing. I began the journey of being a stay-at-home mom and wife which was awesome by the way but I didn’t know that the most important aspect of this life is balancing taking care of yourself first, before you can take care of anyone else. We had our son and not long after, Covid happened and not only was I learning to be a stay-at-home mom and housewife, I also had to become a essential part of my children’s education and their cafeteria worker, nurse, you name it, I had to do it when my husband returned to work. All of these wonderful roles on top of nursing a newborn baby boy and I had a moment of crying spells and my husband and I felt it was best yo seek out a therapist for Postpartum. After my session with my therapist, she recommended that I find a way to find myself again. I had retired from being a cosmetologist professional and that had been my identity for so long but I had to let it go and focus on my new path. The question was, “What is next for Dominique? ” So, I decided to sit down and learn how to use social media and build a community for our family vlog Channel called Welcome To The Nash House by Domi on YouTube and all social sites. I had no idea it would be the foundation that brought me here today, but I am so grateful that I trusted my intuition and went for a dream that I never knew would be possible.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Of course with every successful path, there are roadblocks and my Family and I have faced them head on. While building our platforms, We had to go on a journey of abundance and follow God for guidance each and everyday for 6 months last year when we faced losing our home. Yes, the journey was hard, we are a family of 6 with a support pet but we knew we had God on our side. This huge storm had hit our family and instead of hiding our battle, we were lead to be vulnerable and shared our story of faith on all of our socials platforms. Never did I imagine so many people would care. Most lead with compassion and empathy and some judged us but no matter what, we lead everyday with Gratitude and Happiness to get us through. While dealing with homelessnessmy husband and I both continued to work and and we lived in vacation rentals and hotels to stay off the street. This roadblock helped us propel into our future selves.

I have always identified as a Content Creator but after experiencing homelessness for 6 months trying to keep myself laughing and happy to not give up. Once we were housed, I had to heal from all the pain we went through and some childhood trauma too and now we create music. Welcome To The Nash House by Domi music is available on every streaming platform such as Spotify, YouTube Music, Apple Music, TIDAL, DistroKid and many more. Our music is also listed in the music library of every social media platform as well.
To us, it’s not about setting ourselves apart from others but to leave our Testimony of Faith and the journey we experienced in our music and inspire others. We focus on being our authentic selves and enjoying every moment of life, because that is the blessing.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory is of me watching music videos and knowing that one day I would make music and people would know my name too.
