An Inspired Chat with Arion Castillo of St. Louis County

We recently had the chance to connect with Arion Castillo and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Arion, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day are really about setting the tone with intention and energy. I start by making my collagen drink, which feels like a small act of self-care to support my health. Then I take a few minutes with my planner to craft out my day by setting my intentions and writing down what I’m grateful for, writing an affirmation to anchor my day, planning out my meals and identifying 3 top priorities for the day. After that, I step outside to water my garden, which grounds me and gives me a calm moment of connection with nature. To finish, I either go for a walk to clear my head or take a spin class to get an energetic start. That combination of mindfulness, movement, and organization helps me show up with focus and balance for the rest of the day.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Arion Castillo, and my background is in industrial-organizational psychology, which really shapes the way I approach both work and life. My passion is helping individuals live happier, more balanced lives by intentionally crafting their days in ways that support both productivity and well-being.

One unique part of my journey has been developing my own planner. I designed it not just as a scheduling tool, but as a guide to living with gratitude, clarity, and intention. That process came from my own need to stay grounded and aligned, and it has become a cornerstone of my work. Through my brand, I now focus on bringing those same principles into the lives of others; whether through coaching, organizational support, or resources that help people create space for balance, purpose, and joy in their daily routines I am here as a resource to help make this a fun journey.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
A moment that really shaped how I see the world was going through a divorce at a young age while raising two small children. It was a challenging season, and I realized very quickly that no one was going to change my life for me. I had to take ownership of creating the future I wanted.

Without much support, I leaned into the power of writing and using planners as a way to process my thoughts, set goals, and bring some structure and hope into my days. That practice became a lifeline, showing me the power of intentionally crafting my day instead of just reacting to circumstances. Over time, it evolved into creating my own planner, which I designed not just as a scheduling tool but as a way to live with gratitude and intention. That experience shaped my belief that balance and happiness are not left to chance. They are built intentionally, one choice at a time

What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
One of the defining wounds of my life was experiencing domestic violence. It was a painful chapter that could have held me back, but instead it became the foundation of my growth. I leaned into therapy to process and heal, surrounded myself with supportive friend circles, and committed to building myself up one goal at a time. Each step forward, no matter how small, became proof that I was capable of creating a better future. Over time, I not only healed but also discovered the power of structure, resilience, and intentional living. Those lessons now inform the work I do today, helping others create balance and strength in their own lives through intentional choices and systems that support both well-being and success.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What important truth do very few people agree with you on?
An important truth that very few people agree with me on is that you can be your real, authentic, funny self while also being a professional. Many people feel like they have to hide parts of their personality to be taken seriously, but I believe that who I am is my brand. I am a real person with a big personality, and I love to bring that into my work. Being authentic doesn’t make you any less professionally, it actually allows you to connect more deeply, lead with integrity, and create spaces where others feel comfortable doing the same.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. When do you feel most at peace?
I feel most at peace when I have the firepit lit in the garden and I am hanging out with my family. Those moments allow me to fully be present, enjoy the simple joys of life, and reconnect with what truly matters. Spending time together in that space brings a sense of balance, gratitude, and calm that helps me recharge.
