We recently had the chance to connect with A’Viana Naree and have shared our conversation below.
Good morning A’Viana, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? Are you walking a path—or wandering?
Definitely walking, and although there are obstacles every step of the way and nothing is ever easy…I take every step proudly.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m A’Viana Naree, an artist and creative managed under OMFS Entertainment—Open Mind Free Spirit. My music blends R&B, trap soul, and hip-hop, but OMFS is bigger than music; it’s a movement centered on healing, freedom, and unapologetic self-expression. What makes my brand unique is that it crosses lanes—I’m building not only as a recording artist but also expanding into beauty, multimedia, and community projects. Right now, I’m focused on new music and content while growing OMFS into a platform that inspires others to embrace their truth and create without limits.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
A part of me that I’ve had to release is the version of myself that thought playing small was safer. For a long time, I felt like I had to dim my light or fit into other people’s expectations just to be accepted. That mindset served its purpose…it taught me patience, humility, and how to observe…but it also kept me from stepping fully into who I am as an artist and a woman. Now, I’m releasing that need to shrink myself. I’m embracing my voice, my creativity, and my vision without hesitation. Letting that go has allowed me to show up unapologetically and build OMFS as not just a brand, but a movement rooted in authenticity and freedom!
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, there was a time when I almost gave up. Life threw me a lot of challenges, including medical struggles that led into financial hardships. It felt like everything was stacked against me, and there were moments where the weight of it all made me question if I could keep pushing forward. But even in those low points, something in me refused to quit. I reminded myself that my story wasn’t over and that my dreams were still worth fighting for. Those experiences tested me, but they also shaped my resilience and gave me the strength to build OMFS into what it is today. I carry that fight with me in my music and my brand…proof that no matter how heavy the obstacles, you can rise above them and create something bigger than your pain.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What’s a belief you used to hold tightly but now think was naive or wrong?
A belief I used to hold tightly was that I had to have everything figured out right away…that success only came to those who had a perfect plan and followed it without mistakes. Looking back, I see how naïve that was. Life isn’t linear, and neither is growth. Some of my biggest lessons and blessings came from detours, setbacks, and things not going “according to plan.” I’ve learned that flexibility, faith, and resilience matter more than perfection.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people tell the story of a woman who never gave up on herself, her dreams, or her purpose. I want them to say that I lived unapologetically, that I used my gifts to inspire others, and that I built something bigger than myself through OMFS. I hope my legacy is remembered as more than music…it’s about freedom, healing, and creating spaces where others feel seen, empowered, and brave enough to be their authentic selves. If, when I’m gone, people can say that my journey gave them courage to chase their own, then I’ll know I did what I was meant to do.
