Colure, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: Who are you learning from right now?
We’re all learning from each-other. Since this band started we’ve learned so much about each other, our musical tastes, how we play. It made us much closer as a band.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
We’re Colure! A post hardcore band based in St. Louis, MO.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
Not one relationship, but the amount of friends we’ve made in the scene who comment on our music, tell us what they like, etc, means so much. It really shows people care a little about what we’re doing, and it’s nice to have that support.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
I don’t think we’d ever considered that. There’s definitely times writing has gotten tougher to balance, but never have we thought of quitting.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Whose ideas do you rely on most that aren’t your own?
I think a lot of our ideas come together as a whole. Usually it starts with one person having an idea, but we all will usually try to build on that together.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What will you regret not doing?
We don’t think any of us will ever regret starting this band. We all enjoy writing and playing live together, and we’ve gotten to play a lot of really great shows and make some new friends along the way.
