Hi Katie, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What is a normal day like for you right now?
A normal day for me is a balancing act between flowers and family. As a mother of 3 kids and also the owner of Rouge Floral Design it’s a constant juggle. I usually wake up at about 4:00am to get some work in before the hustle of getting the kids up and ready for school. During the school hours it’s all about my 4th baby, Rouge Floral Design. Usually after school its onto the kids activities and always the hope to answer a few more emails at night. Life is crazy right now, but I always say I would rather be busy then bored. I love every minute of it!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Katie Hackmann. I am the owner and principal designer of Rouge Floral Design. We specialize in wedding and event floral design. We have been in business for 10 years. We service our clients throughout the St. Louis area and always up for travel! We have traveled as far as South Carolina! That was an adventure.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
Honestly my relationship with my kids. It wasn’t until I had my children that I realized the strength and courage I have. Becoming a mother is probably the scariest yet most rewarding relationship. The relationship I have with my children has made me also feel confident. I see them thriving and happy I know I am doing something right.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
100 percent. Many times, I have thought to myself what am I doing and why am I doing this but, in all reality, giving up is never an option.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
