An Inspired Chat with Rebecca Strickland of West County

Rebecca Strickland shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Rebecca, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What is a normal day like for you right now?
Most mornings start early with coffee, a little family time, and a few quiet minutes to ground myself before the day gets going. I split my time between seeing patients for aesthetic treatments and creating personalized wellness plans that support hormone balance, gut health, and longevity. Whether I’m doing full facial balancing with injectables or diving into lab work and supplement protocols, my goal is always to help my patients look and feel their best, inside and out. After work, I shift back into family mode—dinner together, catching up on everyone’s day, and trying to soak up those little moments that matter most. Life stays busy, but I genuinely love the balance of being both present at home and passionate about my work.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Rebecca Strickland, a board-certified Nurse Practitioner specializing in both aesthetic medicine and functional wellness. I practice at Racquel Aesthetics, where I focus on full facial balancing with dermal fillers, neurotoxins, and regenerative treatments like PRP/Sculptra—always aiming for natural results.

What makes my work unique is that I combine aesthetics with a deep understanding of internal wellness. I take a comprehensive approach that helps patients feel just as good as they look—whether that means balancing hormones, optimizing gut health, or supporting longevity with customized protocols.

My journey into this field started with a passion for helping people feel confident and vibrant in their own skin. I’ve trained closely with some of the top names in the industry, and I’m constantly evolving with the latest research and techniques to offer the very best to my patients. Right now, I’m especially excited about the growing interest in longevity medicine and how it pairs so beautifully with aesthetics to truly transform how we age—inside and out.

Okay, so here’s a deep one: What breaks the bonds between people—and what restores them?
I think bonds are often broken by a lack of communication, unspoken expectations, or the slow drift that happens when life gets busy and we stop showing up with intention. When people feel unseen, unheard, or misunderstood, distance naturally grows.

But those same bonds can be restored through presence, humility, and honest connection. Taking the time to really listen, to apologize when needed, and to make space for vulnerability—it all matters. Whether in personal relationships or with patients, I’ve found that trust is built and rebuilt in the small moments: following through, showing up consistently, and choosing grace over pride. That’s what keeps relationships strong and meaningful.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
You don’t have to have it all figured out right away—trust the process. The path won’t always be clear, but every twist and setback is shaping you into someone strong, capable, and full of purpose. Keep showing up, stay true to your heart, and know that the version of you you’re becoming is someone you’ll be proud of. You’re going to make a difference, and you’ll do it by being exactly who you are.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
They’d probably say I care deeply about people—showing up for the ones I love, making others feel seen and supported, and living with purpose. I value connection, honesty, and growth, both personally and professionally. Whether it’s being fully present in a conversation or going the extra mile for a patient or friend, I think they’d say I put my heart into what I do and who I do it for. And they’d definitely say I love a good laugh, a good plan, and a really good skincare routine.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you laid down your name, role, and possessions—what would remain?
What would remain is the heart of who I am—a woman who loves deeply, serves intentionally, and shows up fully. At my core, I’m a nurturer. Whether in motherhood, in my relationships, or in my work, I find purpose in caring for others, creating connection, and making people feel seen and valued. Without the titles or the things, I’d still be a mother, a giver, and someone who leads with compassion. My faith, my love for my family, and the way I pour into others—that’s the real legacy, and it’s what I hope always shines through.
