We recently had the chance to connect with Andrew Gaffigan and have shared our conversation below.
Good morning Andrew, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Movies! I’ve been watching a lot of 80’s and 90’s action movies lately, and they are hilarious and over the top.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
HI, I am a stand up comedian and podcaster living in St. Louis. I love doing comedy and hanging out with people after shows. Besides stand up I also run Gateway City Roast League, the official roast battle in St. Louis. Those have been some of the most fun shows I’ve been apart of.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
I thought I was going to a professional athlete. I believed I was going to be a D1 running back, but I couldn’t stop dislocating my joints, and also I’m pretty lazy, and also I’m not a great athlete. I could be like the fifth best player on a rec league softball team.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
Turns out adults do know what they’re talking about. Listen to them about work ethic and money. Also, get a haircut!

That some sports franchises are cursed and will never be good. You’re telling me some teams have been around for 75 years and haven’t even accidentally been good once (Jets)?
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Looking at my phone. It is such a time waste, and no one is going to be on their death bed saying “I read a lot of funny tweets”
