Chad E., so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first moments of my day belong to the Lord. I rise to worship, I open His Word, and I walk in His truth.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Chad E. Mitchell. I have the honor of serving as the founder and Pastor of Diplomat Legacy Church, a full gospel ministry built on the unshakable foundation of God’s Word, located in Lake St. Louis Missouri.
Diplomat Legacy Church exists to glorify Jesus Christ, reach the lost with the gospel, and equip believers to walk in the fullness of their calling. We are a people of passion and purpose, committed to seeing lives transformed through the power of God’s presence and the truth of His Word.
In 2025, our church has already walked through incredible moments, from standing strong after the EF3 tornado that struck St. Louis, to declaring that seasons of destruction are opportunities for divine restoration. We believe that harvest comes not by chance, but through obedience to God.
Our mission is clear: to evangelize the world, disciple believers, and establish a legacy of faith for generations to come. Whether you are here for the first time or you’ve been with us for years, you are part of a family that loves Jesus deeply, loves people sincerely, and believes nothing is impossible with God.
At Diplomat Legacy Church, we are not just building a congregation, we are building a Kingdom legacy.
Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
In 2006, I experienced a life-changing moment, received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. That day was an endowment of power unlike anything I could ever compare to. I received the very power that Jesus promised in Acts 1:8, where He said, “You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses.” From that moment, my walk with God was ignited with a boldness, a passion, and an authority that could only come from Him.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
I did give up once. In 2017, I stepped away from the ministry. I stepped away from the call. I stepped away from my Lord. That choice led me down a path of loneliness, isolation, and depression. Instead of confronting the obstacles of life with the Word, I allowed my flesh to rise and thrive for years.
But God, rich in mercy, steadfast in love, reached for me again. In 2022, I returned to the Lord with my whole heart. In 2023, I returned to the ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ with renewed fire and a deeper understanding of His grace. And now, I am more determined than ever to finish the race He has set before me.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
Jesus Christ is coming again. I am fully devoted to being a faithful Diplomat of His Kingdom here on earth, boldly proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ to all who will hear. This is my calling, my mission, and my passion, to stand as His ambassador, advancing His Kingdom until He returns.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
When I’m gone, I pray that the story people tell about me is simple but profound: he was a soldier for King Jesus, faithful in service, rich in God’s favor, and a humble servant to his people. My deepest desire is to leave behind a legacy marked by notable service to the King and a life that pointed others to Christ.
