Today we’d like to introduce you to Andie Borje.

Andie Borje

Hi, Andie; we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, let’s briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
Hi, I am excited to be sharing my story with VoyageSTL! I am the heart and soul behind the Borje Golf Academy. Golf has been more than just a sport for me -it has been a lifelong passion that God has instilled in my heart. It has shaped my character and opened doors to incredible opportunities. After years of honing my skills and experiencing the transformative power of this beautiful game, I found myself driven to create a space where young athletes can flourish and develop as golfers and individuals. This program is an experience I wish I had as a junior golfer.

My journey in golf has been sprinkled with unforgettable moments! These moments have given me insight and a deep appreciation for the game’s ability to instill discipline, resilience, and a sense of camaraderie. With this academy, we aspire to foster a community where newcomers feel the thrill of their first swing and seasoned players find a home to elevate their game. I can’t wait to embark on this exciting journey, connecting with fresh and familiar faces and sharing the joy that golf has brought into our lives. Cheers to our new chapter! I hope to see you on the course!

Would it have been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Up until this year it has been pretty smooth! I decided to level up my business this year and I faced a few challenges along the way. One of the biggest challenges I faced was charging my worth. I was afraid that I wouldn’t get anyone to sign up for my program with the price increase. My goal was 10 and I ended up having 32 families believe in my coaching and mission.

Let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Golf has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Since the age of five, you could always find me with a club in my hand. My 20+ years of experience has taken me through:

  • Gateway Junior Golf
  • US Kids World Championships
  • High school state golf teams at Ursuline Academy
  • Division I golf at Indiana State University

I served as the assistant golf coach at Indiana State University for the 2021-2022 season. I coached Queen of All Saints & St. Francis of Assisi CYC programs from 2021-2023. I am currently the varsity golf coach at Ursuline Academy and the freshman golf coach at St. John Vianney. I have had a junior golf program through the PGA Jr. League since 2018. Last year, we sent two teams to Broken Arrow, OK, for the PGA Jr. League Regional Championship.

I’ve given lessons in-person & online, and I have worked with adults and juniors of all skill levels. My goal is not only to help you with your golf swing, but I put a ton of emphasis on making sure that you UNDERSTAND your swing so that you can identify these issues yourself and learn to self-correct. Asking questions is fundamental to learning, especially with the golf swing, which is why my communication channels are always open for all my students.

What would you say has been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?

  • Not everyone will believe in your mission, but don’t let those individuals stop you from moving the needle forward in your business.
  • Have a close group of friends and family you trust to confide in about your business. Their perspectives help you continue to strive for growth and success.
  • Leveling up in your business is scary, but the results are worth it. Get out of your comfort zone; it’s the best thing you can do as an entrepreneur.
  • Charge your worth – don’t undersell your expertise.
  • Doing what God has called you to do is such a joy!
