Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Lamb.
Hi Angela, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hi, I am Angela Lamb.
Creativity, Marketing and the Visual Arts are my life. I began my love of fashion, art, advertising and photography in front of the camera as a professional model where I had the opportunity to live in New York City, Milan, Italy; Madrid & Barcelona, Spain; Zurich Switzerland; and in many areas of Germany. As a model I worked for Vogue, Glamour & Teen Magazines as well as Aveda Cosmetics to name just a few.
Later, I chose to hone my skills behind the scenes and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Marymount Manhattan College with a BA in Art with a Concentration in Photography & Graphic Design as well as a degree in Psychology & a minor in Education. For many years, I worked as a graphic designer and art director in marketing departments such as May Company, McGraw-Hill Publishing and Hachette Filipacchi Magazines. I began Artistic Soup LLC in 2006.
Artistic Soup LLC photographs and creates branding marketing materials, including videos for clients as well as photographs; weddings, events, families, babies and high school seniors.
Over the years and as a lifelong lover of learning, I have filmed, directed and produced five documentary films which are distributed internationally and wrote and illustrated two books called: “Bonding with My Bunnies: Yoga Lesson Plans for Families & Children” and “The Happy Breaths Book” sold in bookstores internationally.
So if you need anything visually creative, I’ve got you. Happy to be your one stop resource. Give me a call and I’d love to help make your dreams a reality.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Being an artist is never an easy path. Most artists will tell you it isn’t something you choose—it’s something that chooses you, something innate that insists on expression. Unlike many professions where you acquire the skills, settle into the work, and rely on what you’ve learned, an artist is in a constant state of evolution.
My desire to keep learning, along with my curiosity for all things creative, has served me well. Technology is always shifting, and we must adapt with it, embracing new tools and new ways of making. Staying open-minded and continually expanding one’s skill set isn’t just helpful—it’s essential to the artistic life.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
An artist may never stop learning, but a strong foundation is what elevates good work to exceptional work. It’s easy to spot when an artist hasn’t studied the masters or learned core principles like color theory—the composition, the color choices, and even the background details reveal everything.
My education, paired with years of real-world experience, allows me to support clients at every stage of their creative journey. When I’m posing clients or capturing natural moments, I combine my understanding of composition with my background as an art director on national advertising campaigns to create images that feel both intentional and effortless. And when illustrations are needed for a book, my graphic design training ensures the artwork not only stands beautifully on its own but also enhances the overall page layout and visual flow.
What truly sets me apart is my ability to guide clients through the entire creative process with confidence. I don’t just deliver one piece of the puzzle—I help bring the full vision together in a way that is polished, cohesive, and visually compelling.
What’s next?
Every day, my goal is to help businesses grow through powerful, eye-catching imagery that strengthens their marketing and sets them apart. I’m equally passionate about capturing life’s most important milestones—family portraits, newborns, seniors, weddings, bar mitzvahs, and everything in between.
I also plan to expand my work in book illustration, offering clients not only custom artwork but also page layout and formatting design to create a beautifully cohesive final product.
As I look ahead, photography and illustration remain at the heart of my business—and I’m excited to continue creating visuals that make an impact.
