Today we’d like to introduce you to Billy Bloomner.
Hi Billy, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My real estate journey started with one house we renovated and turned into a rental while I was still working a 9–5. My wife, our three-year-old son, and I spent every weekend at that place fixing it up. We basically camped there, air mattress and all, just so we didn’t have to drive an hour home on Friday and Saturday nights.
I never planned on becoming an investor or a realtor. It just unfolded after I realized how much potential that first property had and how much I enjoyed bringing it back to life. That project turned into my first flip, then another rental, and suddenly real estate became more than a side thing.
Eventually, taking the leap to get my real estate license just made sense. I left the steady paycheck of my 9–5 and joined a small brokerage. I moved around a bit, trying to find the right fit, until a friend introduced me to Main Key Realty. From day one it felt like home, good people, zero ego, and a culture built on doing things the right way.
Since joining, everything has grown: my flips, my rentals, and my business as a whole. I went from one rental and a day job to building a career I genuinely love.
And the best part? I’m just getting started.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Real estate is not meant to be smooth, you have to put a lot of work into it and even more heart. I have tried working full time at a job and doing real estate part time. I’ve tried doing part job at a job and part time at real estate. Ultimately I learned that being full time in real estate is the only way to be completely devoted to that career path.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I like to focus on just making people happy, doesn’t matter if it’s a first time homebuyer, a young entrepreneur, an overseas investor. I love going through investment style properties and seeing the potential and giving my own input on ideas. I am most proud of getting the closing to the finish line when every hurdle has been thrown at my clients and myself. I guess you can say that is one thing that sets me apart as well.
What matters most to you?
Besides the obvious, happy and thankful clients, I would say what matters most is having that balance of work life and family time. I hold both near and dear but I don’t want anyone to feel neglected.
