Check Out Briana Townsend’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Briana Townsend.

Hi Briana, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
The day I embarked on the birth of Braided bybri is when I was working at spectrum. I had been working there for about 7 months in the doj dept assisting techs on their house calls. the job was fairly easy itself but just not enough for me. I began to break down in tears because i felt I was merely existing and not living which is something I refused to do considering I knew what my true capabilities where.

That was the day I trusted in myself and quit that job to find myself and what I loved to do. I have been braiding and doing locs since I was 13 years old. I grew up doing friends and family hair but i didn’t really enjoy it because I was a young teen and wasn’t getting paid properly for it and I rather spend my time outside with friends. But I’m grateful I discovered a talent that was already there and just pour into my practice til i felt confident enough to go for it again. I then stepped out on faith and allowed what was for me to prosper and Ive been thriving and building ever since in 2019.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
smooth isn’t something i would describe entrepreneurship to be, actually its everything but that. You have to trust in yourself enough to step out and bet on you Soley. Which is the scariest thing you can do that comes with confusion, self-doubt, depression and so on and so forth. You’re faced with every adversity you can possibly think of which is enough to give up. You’ll have to truly see the things you can’t physically see right in front of you and not to mention the doubters on the sideline rooting against you.Even til this day there are days and weeks when i wonder if ill get a client and be able to make ends meet for the month. But ive learned to have faith and bet on myself along with working daily on my craft and marketing techniques to promote and bring in more potential clients which is s full time job.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
