Check Out Graig Lovings’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Graig Lovings.

Graig, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Based out of St. Louis Missouri, Produced By Zoo LLC basically got started from just a kid having fun making beats with my cousins. I started off playing the drums in band in elementary school. That gave me my rhythm at and early age. I would say I was an intermediate drummer before I graduated middle school . Once I got to middle school tho, I found out me & my cousin went to the same middle school and eventually started kicking it everyday. One day I went over to his house and seen his dad gave him a beat machine called the mc808 by Roland. It’s was up ever since lol . It was tricky to learn at first but after a good month I think I started to get the hang of it . My love for video games also inspired my sound til this day. We would go from playing video games to having beat competitions. We were all very competitive which really enhanced my skills in making beats. As time progressed, things happened, equipment got sold, stolen which led me to getting my own laptop. Around this time is when I started to use fruity loops. (A beat making software). Once getting that computer, I remember making beats everywhere. In the car, at work, different studios, you name it . And I could make em quick . Some as fast as 10 mins, some could take days . The most I say I made in a day might have been like 12 or 15. Maybe more but no matter how long it took, I knew I made some heat lol . As time progressed I met a lot of new people and friends because of my music. Just by believing that I could do it & just by putting in the work. Around 2015 is when my life started to change . I stared to get placements, work with some big time artist and producers, but most importantly I learned how to be an engineer. Which engineering is recording artist. It was kinda difficult at first for me because I was thrown into the fire. Like a sink or swim situation & surprisingly I made it out alive. At that moment I told myself as long as you believe, you can do it ! Once learning engineering, it enhanced my beats and the placement of where I put the rappers on my beats. I remember i used to add soooo many sound to my beats and once I learned how to engineer, i knew how to make a song full without so many instruments. I guess you can say less is more sometime lol . Fast forward til today, I kept grinding and ended up building my own studio and content house all from a laptop. Now I’m making beats a recording some of the top artist in the world. I never expected to make money off this but the passion for creating new sounds and new waves is what always keeps me going. And that’s what keeps my sound rich! A few artists I worked with is Waka Flocka, Future, Young Dolph, Migos, Icewear Vezzo, Trouble, Peewee Longway, Pre Jay Fizzle & More. A Few Producers I worked with is Metro boomin, Chopsquad Dj, Chasethemoney, Shawn Ferrari, Zaytoven & more

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing was easy about this road but just being able to have fun while creating . Be lost a lot of relationships because it’s not easy dealing with my schedule. Had to sacrifice a lot because sometimes the money is good but it’s also not so good at times so you have to adjust. It’s a lot of good relationships on the way but a lot of bad relationships too . They both are gonna shape you into the person you wanna be and everyone has to go through the garbage to become a diamond !

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in making instrumentals/ beats & mixing & mastering & recording artists. I think I am most know for recording ice wear Vezzo with no headphones but others can say differently. People can say I’m just known for making beats since I did it for half my life lol. I am most proud of not giving up when it is very easy to do. Everyone is not going to like you or what you do, or even believe in you but as long as you work hard that’s gonna separate yourself from the imposters. The results are going to show in the end. And I wanna say my hard work and catalog is what separates me from the rest. I have over 4000 unreleased beats & made over 16000 total beats in life.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
YouTube was my best friend for making beats . You can find anything on YouTube but also just that experience of going to different studios also help shape me into the producer & engineer I am .
