Today we’d like to introduce you to Halie Hebron.
Hi Halie, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I grew up as the youngest of five girls. We all danced and played different sports. We also all participated in the Miss America Opportunity, so I had the privilege of looking up to some really amazing role models. Through my involvement in MAO, I had the opportunity to develop my Community Service Initiative, which became Art Rx: Art For All. Looking back on my childhood, I was constantly around the arts whether it be through dance, at school, or in my own home. My grandma was a quilter and loved doing crafts on the Cricut with me. My mom was always sewing and rhinestoning our dance costumes or finding a personalized gift to make for someone. I am so thankful that they gave me the resources to feel comfortable going into the arts as a career, but also to help me develop my organization as a program that encourages people to find that love for the arts.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I have the enormous privilege of working alongside my mom, Michele, and my sister, Alison, on my projects with The Morning Crafter. I work alongside my mom, aunt, and cousin for our business called Mahj and Mingle Boutique. With Double H Drafts, I work as a freelance graphic designer. Challenges do come up, especially in terms of time management or working so closely with family. My family has taught me how to communicate my needs and to ask for help when I need it, so no challenge is too big.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a freelance graphic designer, photographer, and videographer. Oddly enough, I specialize in apparel design and social media management. I am incredibly proud of videos and photos that I am able to capture to help businesses better represent themselves online. I think authentic representation and connection is so important. Storytelling and being able to laugh together while creating content help me deliver the best output for my client and to help me (and them) stand out.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Communication is key. It is so important to talk about the expectations and goals of a project before the creative process even starts. For me, this sets great parameters so that I can plan and create products that are unique and exciting for everyone involved.
