Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeremy Genin.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I got a temporary job as a bouncer at a piano bar. I already coached some of their staff kickboxing. One of the piano players was interested in kickboxing, and traded me piano lessons for kickboxing lessons. I stayed with it, practiced incessantly. Sought out an internship, and traveled around playing for strangers for free.
When covid hit. All of my friends were stuck at home, and I had been developing this hidden piano and comedy talent. I knew all my friends were bored out of their minds, so I started doing these live shows, roasting my friends and singing songs. The videos went viral, and I started getting gigs offered. The gigs kept coming in, and I put everything I had into the shows. Things were going well until 2 years ago, I had an accident while working out, and my hand got paralyzed. I couldn’t even move it at first, but I stayed with a strict therapy regiment, recovered and haven’t let it stop my growing piano/singing/comedy/ career.
Now I book top music talent in the country and we put on shows in St. Louis, Chicago, Kansas City, Nashville, southern Wisconsin, and northeastern Indiana.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Definitely not an easy road.

I am a singer, piano player, and a comedian. My career is blowing up in St. Louis and I started playing in other cities.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Hard work and determination. I’m not naturally talented. I just pick something and stay focused on it.
